> CHBS Receives Blue Ribbon Award
The Alabama Independent School Association announced that the Cottage Hill School System has attained the AISA Blue Ribbon School designation for the 2007-2008 school year. An AISA Blue Ribbon School exemplifies excellence in teaching, student performance, school life, and school and community interaction. A Blue Ribbon School award winner is an excellent school involved in an on-going process of school improvement.

Multiplication Station
For students entering 3rd & 4th Grade
This camp includes learning multiplication facts in fun ways to help in retaining this important math concept.
Math Boot Camp
For students entering 5th & 6th Grade
This camp is an intense study that sharpens skills, strengthens weak areas, and touches on processes that they will have in the next grade.
Pre-Algebra/Algebra
For students entering 7th & 8th Grade
This camp focuses on reinforcement of Pre-Algebra concepts and "bridging over" between Pre-Algebra and
Algebra I.
1+1 "Bridge Over" Camp
For students entering 1st & 2nd Grade
Phonetic decoding with cognitive skill enhancement, critical thinking, reasoning, comprehension, focusing, reading, short term and long term memory.
1+1 "Bridge Over" Camp
For students entering 3rd & 4th Grade
Strengthening skills in language arts, cognitive/phonetic decoding, study skills, and CHBS curriculum
1+1 "Bridge Over" Camp
For students entering 5th - 8th Grade
Test taking strategies, retaining information, note taking, locating information, organizational skills, and other study skills
Keyboarding
For students entering 3rd - 5th Grade
Learning to type is included in the 2nd grade curriculum at CHBS. This camp will get the students caught up with their typing skills including accuracy and speed using Mavis Beacon typing software.
Word/PowerPoint
For students entering 4th - 6th Grade
Microsoft Office is introduced in 3rd grade at CHBS. During this camp, fun projects will be created using Word and PowerPoint while learning the basic skills needed for their grade level.
Warrior All-Star Volleyball Camp
For girls entering 4th - 9th grade
This camp will focus on the fundamentals that players of all levels need to master: passing, setting, hitting, blocking, serving, and serve receive. This camp will be held on June 30-July 2 from 9:00-12:30 at Cottage Hill Christian Academy. The cost is $60.00. For additional information, call Jennifer Newton at 605-8180.
Music Conservatory with Walter Cazalas
300 minutes covered in 5 one hour sessions in June and July.
New Songs - More Theory
Staying on top of all that has been learned or just getting started.

Private and group lessons in piano and strings for new and continuing students and Blast Off Programs for introduction to piano and strings for ages 6-10
The 2007-2008 Yearbook will need to be picked up at the Academy during the summer. Check back frequently for the date of pick up.

> 2008-2009 Enrichment Program
Pre-Registration for the Enrichment Program for the 2008-2009 school year is now open to all students currently enrolled at CHBS for the 2008-2009 school year. Both programs will be integrated into one program; with both instructors tutoring all curriculum for K5-8th grade. To hold your spot for next year, fill out a Pre-Registration Form and return to the school office, Mrs. Jordan, or Mrs. Rugan.
