Thursday, December 11th, 2008 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7th, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. Registration forms for the 2009-2010 school year will be sent home on Monday, January 5th, 2009. > Yellow Ribbon Week Writing Contest Winners
Congratulations goes to the Yellow Ribbon Week Writing Contest Winners for their writings entitled "A Hero Is".

The CHBS Robotics Team competed in their first B.E.S.T. Robotics Competition on Sat. Nov. 1, at Davidson High School. They received several awards; 3rd Place for the Robot Competition, Best Web Site Award, and Airbus Lean, Green, Mean Machine Award.
The team was one of 19 teams from Mobile and Baldwin County to compete. The 3rd place Robot trophy qualifies them to compete in the South’s BEST Competition which will be held at Auburn University on Fri - Sat., Dec. 12-13, 2008. The team will compete against 49 other teams from Illinois, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama. Congratulations, team and Good Luck!

Fifth graders, Kailey Beth Smith, Hannah Poiroux, Victoria Morris, and Jillian Poiroux, woke up at 5 am on a Saturday, to
volunteer to help at Alabama’s first American Cancer
Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Walk. This event, a five-mile walk, was held Oct. 25 at Cooper Riverside Park.
Last year, more than 500,000 walkers participated nationwide and helped raise more than $50 million for breast cancer research and patient services. Thanks students for your support in this great fundraising event.
> School Supplies Needed for Tanzania
CHBS has partnered with Ksanga Primary School in Tanzania, West Africa, a school with few supplies for boys and girls. We will be collecting school supplies for K5 – 5th graders in the rural village of Ksanga. The school supplies will be delivered by the mission team from Cottage Hill Baptist Church through a local church we have partnered with in the village. A donation box is located outside the school office. Thank you for helping these precious boys and girls.
Supplies needed: Pencils, Notebook Paper, Crayons, Paper Towels, Tissue, Scissors, Wipes, Tape, Erasers, Chalk, Hole Punch, Glue Stick, Paper Clips, Highlighter > CHBS Receives Blue Ribbon Award
The Alabama Independent School Association announced that the Cottage Hill School System has attained the AISA Blue Ribbon School designation for the 2007-2008 school year. An AISA Blue Ribbon School exemplifies excellence in teaching, student performance, school life, and school and community interaction. A Blue Ribbon School award winner is an excellent school involved in an on-going process of school improvement. Congratulations, students, teachers, and staff!
